Sometimes, when life gets challenging, we may think about putting our book on the back burner.
After all, there are so many more important things we have to do, right?
If your book is not a priority, it simply won’t get done. Things that are put on the back burner get shuffled to the inner recesses of our minds and then are often forgotten about for a very long time.
So, let’s use our words wisely when we speak about our books.
Think about what the back burner means. When we are cooking on the stove, what do we put on the back burner? It’s usually something that does not have to be watched closely, like peas boiling in water.
We also don’t put things that are important to us on the back burner either, and when they burn or become overcooked, we end up dumping them into the garbage or maybe try to salvage them with some salt, spices, or butter, which still doesn’t make them taste good.
Now, if you insist upon keeping your book on the back burner, then consider the message or content of your book. How important is this information to your reader? Is this something that they can wait to hear? Or is this a message or story that your reader needs to read now?
If your book is not a priority, and your message is not important to others, then why not consider skipping the book altogether then?
But, if your book is a priority, then you must start now. In order for you to write your book, start writing today or enlist the help of a professional writer, editor, or coach to help you get it on the page.
Not putting your book at the top of your list is one of the main reasons why the majority of books never get written.
So, set an intentional goal and then take action.
Intentional goal + Action = Result
Writing a book can be exciting, but it also can be challenging. When your book becomes a priority for you, you will get it done just right.
